Tauern Radweg (Krimml to Krimml 215km)

KRIMML TO KRIMML Round Trip (215km)

. This round trip just takes 5 days and is fairly leisurely. We started the trip from Wald, as before and the ride back to Wald, although up river, is surprisingly easy. No tough climbs.

Day 1

To Maishofen (73km)

A long, but most enjoyable ride through some superb scenery. Staying at Kaprun or Zell am See is an option if a shorter ride is required. This is the beauty of these rides – they can be very flexible, as we have never found finding accommodation a problem.

Day 2

To Maria Alm (34km)

A shorter ride today with a few ups and downs but nothing too serious!! Maria Alm is a very picturesque village – a place of pilgrimage - with some splendid views.

Day 3

To Piesendorf (36km)

A very pleasant ride through Maishofen, Thumersbach, Zell am See, Kaprun – again some magnificent scenery.

Day 4

To Mittersill (42km)

Through magnificent scenery to Mittersill – a small town with plenty of accommodation, cafes and gasthofs.

Day 5

ToWald (30km)

A good ride back to Wald – taking some of the alternative routes, which avoid the small towns or villages, makes for a change and in some cases does avoid the occasional steep hills on the approach to some of the villages.
